Crafted in Turkey by Helena, these storage chess sets are perfect for any collector. Not only is it a fantastic display piece this chess set is highly functional as well. With a metal set of staunton chess pieces included and fitted storage for all pieces, art and ease of use come together to make one perfect item. The drawers themselves are of the highest quality, with an easy open mechanism. Each drawer has a removable foam tray perfectly shaped for each chess piece. The set also includes a durable zipper case for easy storage.
A Stately Board for All Occasions
The board is 17 inches overall with 1 3/8 inch squares and comes in three finishes, Black, Walnut and Rosewood. A unique and intricate mosaic runs around the top and base of the board. Along with this beautiful mosaic, the white squares of the board feature a startling pearlescent effect. The chess boards stands at 3 1/4 inches tall and with a bevelled edging, this set demands attention.
The staunton chess pieces included in this set are also quite nice. With a king height of 2 1/2 inches, these metal pieces still have quite a bit of weight to them. The king weighs 1.6 ounces which is comparable to weighted tournament size pieces. All in all, this is a fantastic set for both display as well as a perfect piece for playing with friends and family.
