If you’re interested in chess camp, or chess after-school activities – this is for you!

One of the things we would most like to improve on in our chess store is the social aspect of chess & games. I would absolutely love to have an area for people to play chess, demo unique and exciting board games as an opportunity to try-before-you-buy, or even have a place for a chess club or gaming club to meet.

Hopefully one day we will expand in that direction. For now we’re just packed to the brim with inventory, we just do not have the room for it. However, we get asked a lot about clubs and camps and lessons, so we were looking for some options, at least short term.

With that in mind, I am proud to announce that we are partnering up with our friends at the New York Chess & Games Shop in Brooklyn for their summer camp this year.

Brooklyn Chess Camp – Details and Registration

They are located on Flatbush Avenue near the LIRR Atlantic Terminal, across from the Barclay’s Center. The camp has many options for durations and scope.

But Wait… here’s the good part.

If you sign up, be it for a half-day program, full day program, be it the summer, a month, or a week – we’d like to kick in as well.

If you either email a copy of your receipt or bring it in to our store by August 1st, 2013 we will give you a 35.00 Gift Certificate to our chess store, valid for absolutely anything.

There is no expiration date for our gift certificates, so use it to stock up on whatever you might need before camp begins, or save it for a holiday gift. The choice is yours.

The Chess Camp is available in either half-day or full day options, and includes much well beyond ‘camp’ itself. I have a bit about what is included below….

Brooklyn Chess Camp Contents

During the Summer, your child will receive: safe, quality, experienced supervision 10 hours a day, 5 days a week from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM (no additional charge for early drop off or late pick up!).

Two professional chess lessons a day.

Multiple enrichment activities that include guitar lessons, foreign language, science fun, math fun, word games, soccer, basketball and field trips to cool, exciting places all over New York City. Trips planned include the Sony Wonder Lab, Puppet Works, The Hayden Planetarium, The Queens Hall Of Science, The New York Aquarium, The Brooklyn Museum, The Museum of Moving Image, The Transit Museum and The Central Park Zoo. *Trip locations may vary depending on the weather.

The kids also receive breakfast in the mornings, snacks and juice throughout the day and earn trophies, medals and awards during the contests and activities they participate in.

Camp begins July 1st and ends August 30th. Single days may be purchased for June 27th and June 28th.
