These soapstone chess sets are hand carved and imported from Kenya. This set features an African Animals motif. As each set is handmade, the pieces are very unique and you will find some carving variations from one set to the next, making it a true one of a kind collectors piece.

This set is in black and white and is made out of soapstone, so is reasonably heavy. The pieces are somewhat fragile, so while this set can be played with, we recommend it as primarily a display chess set.
