Its an ok chess board, but I have not been happy with it considering what I paid. The return policy is extremely stingy and I can't send it back now that I regret the purchase even though its only been 15 days. With most major retailers offering 30 day returns, I can't believe anyone still has a return policy like that. Would not recommend, but if it was on sale I could maybe see it being a decent value, it just doesn't have the wow factor you expect at this price. Its also a tad too big for the set of pieces I have which took a few games to realize.

This board is beautifully made with imperceptible seams. It has a sort of matte/egg shell surface with a strong and attractive contrast between the light and dark squares.The edge is lovely, too - subtle and classy, yet quietly decorative. I wanted something pretty and classic with at least a nod to aesthetics but not over the top - the edge and pinstripe inlay is decorative but the board still stays practical in that it doesn't extend the board excessively. I paired this board with the 3" MoW Ebony Chess Pieces - Imperator Staunton and the pairing is pretty stunning. I currently have it set up on a dresser in my guest room. It adds a warmth and inviting energy to the room. One word of caution when unpacking - the packing is fine, no worries there - but when I took it out and set it on my kitchen table which I thought was clean, I was mistaken and there were a couple pieces of grit on the table. So, when I slid it forward a little I scratched the bottom - just little scratches, but still, I wish I had thought to be more careful. So, when you take it out of the box, set it on a cloth and admire your decision to buy this absolutely beautiful board.
